“The powered hub is a perfect fit for the Raspberry Pi. Plug in and play. My RPi is powered by a USB cable from the TV. The powered hub carries wifi dongle, Flirc, and, on occasion, keyboard and mouse. The problems of instability in the Pi are relegated to the past.”

“I looped my Pi 2 into it (power in, data out), plugged my USB HDD into it, then plugged it into the wall. Everything started up and started working. No fuss, no muss. Also, it's a but smaller than I thought it would be from the pics. That doesn't bother me (it's actually kind of cute) but I thought I'd mention that it's nearly the same form factor as the Pi itself, provided I don't have the little stand attached to it.”

“These hubs work and ship with UK legal power supplies. Some 7-port hubs that might look similar (e.g. eBuyer 7-port hubs) aren't reliable and ship with completely illegal power supplies that emit lots of EMI and fail spectacularly with 340V out the outlet relative to earth.”
