“Very difficult to defrost without losing the juice and there was still some shell inside. The oyster meat was very thick. I will stick to fresh ones.”

“The oysters were inedible. They were a mix of being mushy and gritty. On reflection, I think that oysters should not be frozen. When you eat freshly-shucked oysters, you are eating something delicate that was still living until the time of eating. With the frozen oysters, we were faced with something that had been farmed and harvested in The Netherlands; then they were frozen; then they were shipped to the UK (probably with post-Brexit delays); then shipped from your depot to us where they were defrosted (carefully, at room temperature). I now believe that oysters are so delicate that they cannot survive being frozen. I should have thought about this before ordering. My mistake.”
