“Usually I buy "Bismarck Herrings" in jars from Germany: thus breakfast, mit Roggenbrot. But given the importance of the herring trade to my Aberdonian ancestors in the nineteenth century I was ... curious. Your frozen herrings are tasty but I'm not sure I'd repeat the experience too often. Other fishes suit my way of cooking better.”
