“I have never seen a lobster tail with a lot of black bits at the back and black where the little feathery fins attached to the lobster. There was a hard unpleasant membrane the ran along the entire back of the tail which was impossible to detach, so although the fish above was sweet you had no choice but to fight to get it. I wish I had gone to Iceland. It spoilt our Christmas dinner. We are elderly and this was to be a treat. I have not tried the rest of my order yet as I feel reluctant. I would never buy from The Fish Society again or recommend. Too risky.”

Hello Yvonne We are sorry that you were disappointed with the rock lobster tail. There should have been instructions on the label on the pack explaining how to remove the shell: To remove shell: defrost then dip in boiling water for about 2 mins. Remove & cool then using scissors cut sides of the soft undershell. Lift meat out. OR use heavy knife to cut in half lengthways - then you could grill for 5-10 minutes (depending on size… check: cut into meat and check is white all through). Beginners: we suggest you cook in a well-watched pan.

“I'm fortunate to know Rock lobster (craw fish tails) from living in South Florida years ago (used to catch my own) . These tails are gorgeous, perfectly frozen after catch, and arrived at my home on time in great condition. Made my family Christmas Dinner extra special. Thank you so much.”
