LOVE these, my favourite smoked fish and great if you'd like something not quite as salty but with great depth of flavour. Echoing other comments but PLEASE don't throw the roe away it's the best bit!

There are, I venture, few things fit to print finer than a good bloater with a cup of strong tea and a decent piece of bread and butter on a stormy day. My first FS bloater years ago was disappointing. This was good. I am still aggrieved that the instructions continue suggest gutting. I am no fan of Charles Dickens but he was surely right to write "But Peggotty said, with greater emphasis than usual, that we must take things as we found them, and that, for her part, she was proud to call herself a Yarmouth Bloater." Please don't gut them but if you must please reserve the roe.

In a word EXCELLENT, I did email you and ask you to tell Martin, (the smoker) they were the best I have had for many a long year, Lots of fish lovers have never even heard of, or tried them, hence they don’t know what a treat they are missing! Do lease continue to stock them

The best I have bought in many years, I did send an email saying how pleased I was but no reply….. tell Martin, the man who smoked these how pleased I am, By the way, I have smoked my own herrings but not as well as him
