The Fish Society made every possible effort to make sure the delivery went well; and it did go well - also tried the fish today and it was as delicious as I remember my first taste of this delicacy, bought many years ago (from the Fish Market in Derby) I would recommend them highly

One the world's greatest dishes. Split them, heat em up, big dollop of butter once they are hot, lots of thin cut wholemeal bread and lashings of a cold nice lemony white wine.. Lovely.

I'd never had Arbroath Smokies before, but my husband had always raved about them - now I know why. They were delicious and I shall definitely be ordering some more. So much nicer than kippers and more manageable bones!

The Smokies arrived early on the day after placing the order. The fish was well packed and protected by airbags and dry ice. The flavour of the fish was superb, it was used in a luxury smoked fish pie. Our dinner guests were very impressed.

I am from Dundee. I've been brought up on fish and have always loved smokies. Today I bought a pair from fresh fish shop in Arbroath by the harbour. Georgeous they should have been. They were dry and most obviously afew days old. I didn't now this of course until I tried to prepeare them for our tea. The main bone didn't peel in one as it should when fresh. Taste ok but no way succulent. I am so ashamed of this I praise smokies up all over. I am a forces person retired now but I can get a fresher smokie in the midlands than on my own doorstep. I am soooo disappointed
