“Well, Surstromming. I was once asked to be the UK agent for this......er, niche product. We had it as a dinner party starter and despite all the jollity and warnings, it really did upset two guests and they had to retire whilst we discussed its merits. In fact, after all the stench - and it really is a terrible stench - the actual fish tastes not unlike slippery soaked anchovy fillets. That said, it is quite a novelty, read the instructions and comply - but the gastronomic aspects should not be taken too seriously.”
