This copolymer offers distinct advantages over other leader materials. Being a copolymer means that it is far softer than fluorocarbon or nylon monofilament, it is also thin, so that you can fish with confidence when using small dry flies or indeed nymphs. Knots well, though I slightly modify my old knots I used with nylon by adding an extra loop. Soft, strong and supple. Presents the fly nicely.

I’ve tried many of the new-style flourocarbon leaders and most have disappointed. Knot strength is a big problem. However, this Wychwood Connect is now my only choice. It is strong, knots really well and is almost invisible in water. I have had to slightly modify my old knots from those I used with old-fashioned nylon, mainly by adding an extra turn or loop, but I’m happy with the knot strength I achieve. Excellent leader.
