The Osprey Talon 26 is a bigger and better version of the Talon 22, with a more useful capacity of 26 litres, for a full day-sack, to use in the hills. I have both the Talon 22 and Talon 26, both in Hi Viz, so I can be seen by speeding bikers and cars, as a walker and cyclist myself. The upper, zipped, outer lid pocket is useful, but a bigger capacity eg for a good first-aid kit and an inner, zipped pocket, on the inside of the lid, would make it even better eg for a power bank, charging cables and a pair of good, rechargeable, head-torches, for longer walks, into the night. The useful, inner, security pocket has a key clip. The Talon accepts a water bladder and has two external, elasticated bottle pockets and the waist belt pockets are useful for snacks, sun tan lotion and medication. Look at Youtube, for the stash- and-go, trekking-pole fitting. Improvements. A more effective emergency whistle, on the chest strap, together with a bigger pouch for sunglasses/snack on the shoulder strap and an integrated rain cover would all be good additions/modifications.

Great rucksack my only gripe is I would have liked the mesh front pocket to be slightly bigger as I can’t squash my helmet in it. But other than that I love it.

Only just purchased so can't comment on effectiveness of features yet. Product specifications appear accurate. This product like other Ospreys could be improved: a lower separate compartment accessed via a side entry zip pocket so finding things quickly and easily; a wider front mesh pocket and a built in waterproof cover (accessed from either the base of the pack or from the back of the top pocket. I will amend my review after several uses.
