“First time buying bike insurance. Really easy to compare the different levels of cover and select best value for money. Will be back when I need to update for my bigger bike!!”
“Be aware if you decide to change your bike. They will not insure you on that policy, doesn't matter if you are going up or down in capacity .They will either charge you top premium for new policy or charge you £50.00 to cancel. There is a no win situation. Look else where.”
“Dear Phil
Thanks for the email requesting me to write a review.
All good, bar a few points, that I always seem to experience when going through a Price Comparison Site for insurance (such as yourselves).
All information input online – by myself – is always accurate to the letter and I make sure I am upfront and honest regarding all personal and bike details.
Unfortunately, when I received the documents from Bennetts – and checked them carefully to ensure all detail input has been copied over to the policy documents correctly – glaring omissions were spotted, including; no reference to my diabetes and three-year licence, no reference to optional extras my bike has (when I bought it) such as aftermarket exhaust back boxes and luggage that is used occassionally.
After speaking to a Bennetts' representative corrections were made and documents re-issued, but not before having to charge me an additional fee to cover the original omissions.
I protested about the extra payment, as I had declared all information online, (from what my premium was based) but was told that if I refused to pay the extra my insurance would be invalid and should I be involved in an accident I would probbly not be covered.
I therefore had no option but pay the addtional requested fee.
That aside, even with the extra fee imposed the total premium was still below what I could achieve elsewhere.
I just wish – for once – that when I declare everything to obtain an honest and accurate quote, this detail is included in the documentation, without the need for me to trawl through all papers to ensure everything is correct.
Best Regards
Edward Cole”
