“Poor customer Service and hidden costs!
Already an existing customer and on purchasing a new bike called to activate policy waited 20 minutes on hold and told no advisors available and they would call me back in 12 to 24 hours. Explained I had bought bike and needed to ride it home....the same person took all the details and activated the policy. Also told my card and had been declined when insuring the new bike and to call the bank to sort it out. Called the bank and the payment had been authorised....called Bennetts back another 25 minute wait and informed best thing to do was move NCD to new bike......fine original policy more expensive but cheaper on the bigger bike. However they didn't explain the £32 fee for changing the policy. Called to complain after looking over paperwork...another long wait......told "pay the fee even if change a phone number" asked for fee to be removed...."talk to manager"........wait.......no refund as its already been amended....I said I wanted to make a complaint..."put it in your notes and someone will call you in 24 to 48hrs". Asked for complaints procedure...."don't have one just put it on the computer in the notes"...asked for compliant number/ref.."....don't have one someone will call you"......"is there anything else I can help you with"..........nah”
“I chose to get my motorcycle insurance through Bennetts this year solely because of the price. I have owned and had bike insurance for over 31 years with only ever claiming on a policy once. I do not expect to ever pay over £85 and Bennetts offered me a policy for under this price. I did however have to for go my "protected no claims" on this insurance. Which after reading the policy claim procedure regarding loss of my no claims discount should I be unfortunate enough to make a claim I am a little disappointed with so here's hoping I don't have to make a claim or else I will be back down to almost 4 years no claims discount from the 9 that they only take into consideration. This is a real bug bearer for me.”
