“I have a 125 CC HMC which I took my test on last year. It has been stored until this year and I was in the process of selling it but figured I should have insurance just in case so I done my searching. One call came up with a reasonable £74.00 fully comp, cannot remember exact amount. Yep I will take that. Money goes from bank account
Email thank you for your inquiry we cannot progress as we need you to contact us. There is a cancellation fee for cancelling. Hmm don't remember cancelling so I contacted them "Why can you not progress?" "We do not know your bike licence plate number." O.k. how did they manage to give me a quote in the first place. Gave this to them. Am I insured now "Yes" cool. A week goes by a letter arrives thank you for your inquiry we cannot progress as we need you to contact us. There is a cancellation fee for cancelling. Hmm still don't remember cancelling. "What appears to be the problem now". "We do not have your driving licence details." Which I pass to them. Am I insured now? Yes. cool. "When will I have a copy of my policy?". "We emailed it to you." "Well I do not have a copy". Turns out it was being sent to the wrong email address. How does a company manage to email you information but cannot seem to be able to send your documents to the correct address.
The policy arrived. Wrong house number at this point I thought I cannot be a$@%d contacting them again.
I sold the bike this weekend. "I would like to cancel my policy!" "Why" etc. "We have a cancellation fee." Really I thought. "Yes that is £56.00 so as you had the policy for a month we will not be reimbursing you any money." So use them at your peril. Most companies have a cancellation policy not for 80% of the policy. With that the company director got on his horse and rode into the sunset shouting stand and deliver.”
“I had issues with the insurer and cancelled the policy. The insurer looks as tho you are dealing directly with them, however it transpired that they were a broker and I had issues with their customer service and policy wording. I had issues with having to upload my licence details via a form on their website that were requested by them and which I considered not a very secure way of possible hacking my details. I have renewed insurance for decades and never previously had issues with an insurer. I would not use or recommend One Call Insurance to any of my associates or friends and it is unfortunate that I found their company on your website.”
