“I took a punt on these, as there were no reviews of any kind to be found. I went for the 8" woofer size to hopefully get a little bass out of them. This is because bass is lost quickly outdoors, when a speaker doesn't have the constraints of a room to interact with Room gain). The other attractions were the IP44 rating (shower proof), and the price, which I couldn't best anywhere else. The speakers have a good surface finish, and appropriate weight (approx 4kg each) for a milder plastic enclosure. The enclosure has two small reflex ports, and is generally pretty compact considering it houses an 8" driver. How do they sound? Surprisingly good actually for what they are. They have a polypropylene coned woofer, and I can't tell what the theater is without taking them apart! They have a reasonably well balanced sound for a budget pair of speakers, with plenty of detail in the highs, but not harsh. Bass is surprisingly good too. I have them mounted under a 4.5m X 6m curved patio canopy that I built in the autumn, and they look very good.”
