We do recommend not defrosting before use, this will avoid elements of the packs going soft.
For future reference: There are sections of the recipe which suggest adding water 'if you think anything will burn', these are circumstantial and if the dish looks watery at the final stages, a short simmer on a medium heat will thicken the mixture.

Yesterday we had the Dahl, along with sea bass which we also had in the freezer. Although the curry kit contents were a tad squashy due to being frozen and defrosted the dahl was absolutely delicious. “Wow! We've tried the Madras and Persian Khoresh so far. We LOVE the taste and it's such fun preparing them. It's really great to have the raw ingredients without having to buy loads of things that then sit in the cupboard for ages. And we love the fact that you can make them as hot as you like.
