“Sadly we've had to return the item twice because of an odd smell. The blanket itself is a great colour and would have been a cosy item, customer support has also been great but there is an odd odour which accompanies the blanket when opened and even airing and washing haven't remedied the smell. Twice can't be a coincidence so we think it has to do with the manufacturing process or where they are stored. Have sent back for a full refund. Such a pity.”

Hello Christian. So sorry to hear that the blanket your received has a strange smell. What you’re smelling is lanolin (or “wool wax”). It’s a natural oil that sheep produce which gives their wool that super important waterproofing property. We soak all of our recycled wool in vegetable oil to break it down before washing, but for some woolly blankets, the lanolin scent just happens to hang around a bit longer. I'm so sorry this happened with both of your blankets. I'm glad we managed to get your refund sorted for you in the end. Thank you for sending over your feedback.

“I have bought 2 Recycled wool knee blankets in the last few weeks. I use them on armchairs and they look superb. The service was excellent, particularly as I made a mistake on the colour of a third blanket and I was able to return for a refund without any problem.”
