“This is a replacement for a 10 year old tap which Hudson Reed provide a 20 year warranty. Our old tap had leaked around the central shaft of the ceramic cartridge, which allowed limescale to form on the bearing shells of the handle shaft.
When we noticed the leak & removed the handle the bearing shells disintegrated.
Hudson Reed washed their hands & advised that the warranty didn't cover consumable parts such as the ceramic disc cartridges. Quoted £30+VAT for replacement ceramic discs & £30+VAT for replacement handles.
Decided to go for a new tap which Tap'n'Shower provided promptly”
“The tap itself is good and performs well once installed. However, it came in several pieces which had to be assembled. Fitting the lever assemblies was particularly fiddly - and it didn't come with any assembly instructions. The installation instructions supplied were generic, and of little use. They showed flexible tails whereas this tap came with rigid tails. I needed flexible tails since the tap was a replacement and not a new installation, so I had to go out and buy some.
In addition, the stated delivery time was misleading. The tap was stated as being in stock and on a 1 - 2 day delivery. However, it took 5 days to arrive.”
