Sorry to hear that Take Stock wasn't to your liking Anthony. It's a very different product to Bovril and the flavour certainly reflects that: Take Stock is 100% natural - just meaty bones, veg and water simmered for up to 24 hours, Bovril contains yeast extract, colouring, flavourings and flavour enhancers, including disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate. If you're looking you stick to a 100% natural drink then it's easy to build up the flavour of Take Stock to your personal taste with some more seasonings - a hit of chilli works well for example!

“Has a great taste and goes well with the few soups I've made of it so far. Not too salty which is a good sign as salt is often used to make up for loss of taste during the sterilastion process and it really retains that wonderful deep flavour you get from good variety of bones from larger animals (not just chicken). Of course it will be cheaper and tastier to go to a butcher and get the bones your self but this will save you half a day and so while it is a little expensive compared to some of the alternatives I used .. it's definitely a better balanced stock when compared to them. Recommended if the price tag doesn't make you wince.”
