“It's a big knife with a locking blade, so don't take it to the town centre on a Saturday night. However, tucked in it's green pouch low on a rucksack shoulder strap (where you won't lose it) high up on a Munro it is just the business. I have sawn branches to clear footpaths, cut rope, speared olives, opened beers and tins of tomatoes, sliced courgettes, tightened cross heads, reamed screw holes, and cleaned my teeth. It's a good strong knife always at the ready on the outside of my pack, and I make sure it comes with me out on the trail.”
