“VINYL (not chrome) SPINLOCKS included. A bit naff. Had expected chrome spinlock nuts, but shouldn't have as item description clearly sates vinyl, although in my defense the on the photo it's hard to make out at a glance if you don't know to look, and as far as I knew York always supplied chrome nuts. That aside, the vinyl nuts work and are decent enough but I'd expect them to wear eventually so will be buying chrome at a cost of around £10 extra. Overall makes the total price less attractive. Under normal conditions these weights RRP at £50 (Jan 2020), and while £75 (Jan 2020) including postage is not a huge amount more and is totally reasonable given the market conditions, a set of chrome nuts on top takes it up to £85 which is less of a good deal, it being pretty much the going rate - though granted these were in stock and dispatched promptly. All in all, a good product at a reasonable price, pity about the vinyl spinlock nuts / that not being pointed out a little more clearly given it's not what most will be looking for in a cast-iron set. A case would be nice, but if you're using them regularly obviously taking them apart to put them away is a bit silly. Do like the grips, pity they're a flat cylinder and not more ovoid like the top end ones, but they feel good in any case and some will prefer this. Also that little extra friction helps keep the plates steady and stops them clonking metal on metal.”
