“I think the virtual monitoring feature is incredible. It saves time bouncing songs and parts to hear in the car or to hear on my phone so I can hear how the low-end comes through on small speakers. It gives a decent live monitoring experience without all the expense and set up of monitors and room adjustments. I appreciate the technology. Latency can be a bit of an issue and phase can too, but they have been well accounted for in the software so you can be aware, mitigate, or adjust for it.”
“I dig it very much. As a person who tracks instruments with headphones I often don't like the on ear sound. It's in a sense too close but the virtual monitoring really makes it "feel" like the sound is coming from out front as if you were sitting in front of monitors. It's a nice change”
“Virtual monitoring is pretty good, I do not think it would replace real monitors, but I do use this feature evey now and then to get a different insight into my mixes... even though its not 100% as good as the real thing, its a strong 4/5, and I would still recommend this as a tool in your aresenal (if you already have Sonarworks)”
“The added depth to the listening experience is great, and helps to pinpoint and reframe certain elements in a mix that might otherwise have been overlooked.”
“It has been very helpful since I had to sell my monitors because my room was in a poor acoustical condition, and I resorted to working on headphones only. As I was struggling to make music translate using only headphones I found the option for Virtual Monitoring and give it a try. It takes a little bit of time to get used to it but now it feels very natural and I’ve been using it ever since.”
