I like being able to switch through the different settings to help me blend certain kinds of sounds across different targets. This is a level of feedback I did not have before and I know it is improving the mixes.

This is a great solution to mixing in an untreated room! My mixes now translate well. Easy purchase process and delivery was fast! Love the new mix environments to save trips out to the car for testing!

I thought it was nice, but just messes up the whole point of Sonarworks. It works so much better without the Virtual Monitoring add on. It just distorts the whole perception and doesn’t emulate too well the virtual monitoring environment.

It gives you a good impression of a Real Monitoring setup.

I had in the 1970s audio as my trade. When I retired 7 years ago, I started to produce music at my home studio. Now what we were dreaming of back then it's now real with a small budjet. I work mostly with headphones to not disturb the rest of my family, so it's essential that I can rely on what I hear with my headphones. I heard of Sonarworks SoundID Reference from a home studio Facebook group and deciced to give it a try. Ordering, paying and even taking it to use went smoothly. I use it with my three PC's. To my surprise it was available also to my Android phone and tablet - and for free. I was amazed how the whole listening chanced and it effected to my mixing and mastering results dramatically. Specially I enjoyd the possibility to check how my productions would sound in different listening environment like smart phones, laptops, cars, TV sets. I recall a hint from an old sound studio engineer that he checked every song also from a C-casette recorder of his car despite his state-of-air studio monitors. I had a couple of issues, but I had surprisely quick (and friendly) answers from the Support Centre which solved my cases. They also took seriously my finding and promised to forward my development suggestion: "Your findings are correct. Currently, there is no such feature within the SoundID Reference software to adjust the volume of left and right chanels individually. I have forwarded your email as a feature request to our Product team for review. I can't promise a timeline, but it will be looked into if enough similar requests have been received." So I am very pleased in all.

The SoundID Reference Virtual Monitoring Add-On has been a game changer for my workflow. Even without the full software, the virtual monitoring feature allows me to simulate different studio environments directly in my headphones. This add-on provides an incredibly realistic sense of space, making it easier to fine-tune my mixes without needing access to a treated room. It's an efficient and practical solution for anyone who wants to improve their monitoring capabilities on the go or in less-than-ideal environments.
