“I work professionally as a music producer and mix/mastering engineer. SoundID reference already made a huge improvement in my work over the last few years, making my studio sound a lot better. The new virtual monitoring add on now gives me the option to actually check my mixes in a reliable way on my headphones. Changes I make on headphones now translate very well to the studio and other listening environments. Also nothing to complain on the ease of use of the software,”
“I was thinking about buying a similar VST from another company before i found out that sonarworks had released their own "Virtual Monitoring" without hesitation i went on to try it out with a 30 day trail.
My expectations were pretty high because of how pleased i am with "SoundID" and still Sonarworks manages to amaze me again. I decided that I had to try the other VST just to compare it to Sonarworks "Virtual Monitoring" to get most value for my money and there was no reason to even try to compare. Sonarworks is just in a different league.”
“I think there's a lot more you can do with this extension. Although the simulated environment is very realistic and very helpful for mixing, I don't think it's worth the price because you have so few simulated environments that it is not enough to put it bluntly, and it is not cost-effective. I'd like you to increase the number of environment simulations in this expansion at least twice as many as you do now, so that the experience will definitely be even better.”
Hello,
Thank you for the review!
The Virtual Monitoring add-on is a fairly new addition to SoundID Reference and improvements will be made over time. As for now, it has all the things you would expect for a simulated studio environment, but more customizability is widely suggested and is being discussed. Hope to see new additions in the future!
Have a great day!
“SoundID Reference is so user friendly and ideal for those who maybe mix from home or just don’t have a wide range of references. My favorites are the Car and Mobile Virtual monitors. They are so different and therefore so helpful.”
