The upgrade doesn't really provide much more functionality and the application appears to use more memory (i have monitored it using 1gb of memory). It should be provided as an unpaid option for people who already purchased reference 4.

Hello, Thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately, SoundID Reference is a successor to Reference 4 thus a paid upgrade is required. This applies to most of the audio production DAWs and any other music software where the latest upgrade is paid. If you encounter unusually high CPU usage, please reach out to us by submitting a support request and we'll be happy to help! Thank you!

It was great before as well, now it sounds even more like control room monitors.

I like the the changes from version 3/4 to Sound ID. But I do miss having the "NS10" style to check my mix on. Would love it if you could implament that back into the software or even an "aurotone" speaker with the options that you have in the new Sound Id..

Sonarworks for headphones is a true game-changer for my mixing production. The ability to hear intricate details that I was missing on my headphones or room speakers before Sonarworks is amazing. Couldn't be more happy with this application.

I've started using SoundID heavily for mixdowns and referencing. Some producer friends told me that a recent mix I completed was "too well balanced." That's a different "problem" to solve, but it's a massive improvement from my mixing results in the past.
