I'm moving my setup to the studio version, it's amazing to hear music this way, it's like a rebirth. Even the version with headphones allows you to listen to music in the right way to make the right mixing decisions. I am also listening to my favorite CDs to rediscover them, so many details emerge that I had not noticed before. The difference is there and you can listen to it.

After updating my OS I couldn’t run the old Reference Plugin because the license couldn’t be found so I contacted tech support. After several days with no reply I decided to buy the upgrade so I could keep working. They didn’t work either. I contacted support again, no reply. So all in all, after 2 weeks, I can’t use a plugin I purchased years ago and now can’t use the upgrade I just bought. Terrible.

Would have been nice if we at least had the previous 'custom' curves from Reference 4 as presets - going to SoundID initially feels like a downgrade as you are literally losing the previous settings you were used to. Yes, we have more control over the curve now but it would have cost nothing to include some custom presets to match Reference 4. Also still cannot choose different curves for left and right channels. This would be incredibly useful for people with asymmetric hearing issues.

With TC Electronic Impact Twin audio interface the VST works OK. But the System Wide option is creating a mess. The sample rate of the interface continuously jumps between frequencies at fast pace, and the whole system becomes unstable/unusable. For System Wide I have to continue using Reference 4. Conclusion: Unhappy with the upgrade :(

Being able to make custom EQ presets and have the Translation Checks is such an amazing upgrade from Ref4. On top of that, SOUNDID is way more stable : I haven't had any crashes since the upgrade.

Purchased the upgrade on March 27th and could not install it due to the Sonarworks database not recognizing my product which was last updated November 29, 2019. Contacted technical support by email multiple times and have had no response other than to say that they are very busy. So I am left with a product that is completely unusable. Are they going out of business? That is 2 weeks with no response. Sad!
