“The reason I had to upgrade from Reference 4 to SoundID is because it was no longer working on my macOS. For my workflow, it works just as well as the previous version.
One thing that would make it a valuable upgrade would be if the Virtual Monitoring add-on was included with the main software, or at least one studio room.”
“I have upgraded my Reference 4 to the new Sound ID Reference and Virtual Monitoring. It makes a difference, sounds realy well.
Virtual Monitoring is also very useful to check your mix in different environments, like cars, laptos, phones, and trhee sizes of speakers.”
“I have been a Sonarworks fan since Reference 4 when I bought it around 2018/2019. The plugin was a game changer and “aha” moment to me in understanding mixing music and how listening sources apply cuts and boosts, and how to consider it.
I was hesitant to upgrade to SoundID, only because I didn’t think I needed it, but after exploring only for a few minutes there is so many more options, presets and potential built right in. Not to mention all the add-ons including AI!
I can’t wait to explore more when I have time to jump into some projects. Thank you Sonarworks! I use Reference 4 with my Audio Technica M50X and my Beyerdynamic DT 900 Pros, and it’s amazing!”
“Sonarworks is a good way to get a neutral sound in your headphones to enable better mixing decisions. It makes a real difference. I shall save up for a pair of their pre-calibrated headphones.”
“This product allows you to listen to music as it was intended by the engineer. When mixing music, this software gives you a monitoring environment that allows your mixes to translate well on any playback system. The new UI looks and feels great and modern.”
