This is a nice tool but it works extremely unstable on Mac OS Monterey. The core audio and the driver itself requires frequent restarts. Also SoundId reference audiodevice often autoswitch audio output on itself when I want to use some other audiodevice directly. Enabling of correction very often doesn't work without restarting.

Hello, Thank you for the review! Yes, we are currently aware of the driver issue but there are a few workarounds: 1. You can restart the playback engine within the SoundID Reference application 2. Installing the previous version of our software will eliminate the issue. Keep note, that all of our development effort is currently concentrated on improving and polishing the SoundID Reference, so I am sure we'll get to the bottom of this soon. If you require further assistance, please let us know by submitting a support request here: https://soundid-reference.support.sonarworks.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Hope this helps!

The program helps with hearing mixes with clarity. Purchasing and installing was easy and did not need customer support.

After a trial period with 3 different solutions, I purchased SoundID, having been convinced that it was the best option for producing more accurate mixing and mastering in my studio. Besides already having profiles for headphones, the real benefit was in creating profiles for 2 sets of studio monitors. The best selling feature is the trial period with a fully functional product. Being able to use it standalone and as a plugin means that you can easily verify the difference that it makes to your output. SoundID is great for the imperfect rooms that most of us work in.

So SoundID is basically magic. I understand roughly how it’s working and what it’s doing, but the results are astonishing. My room is effectively unlistenable; I have an 18db boost at around 130hz, and a big dip around 1khz. It has low ceilings and is packed with furniture- I have big glass fronted wardrobes filling one short side and a big window on the other short side, my monitors sit on the desk, jammed against one long wall. I can’t move anything to try and improve it. It’s like a worst case scenario simulation for some terrible audio game. SoundID basically fixes everything. After the measuring process. I have now an effectively flat response and everything’s vastly improved. There’s detail in every frequency band which was impossible to hear before. Stereo imaging and soundstage is much better as well. I’m getting occasional clicks and pops which is irritating, but can hopefully be fixed with some tinkering with my interfaces buffer. I can’t recommend this software enough, it’s amazing.

SoundID Reference has transformed my audio production process. Its ability to flatten sound frequencies in the room with intelligent EQ ensures a cleaner and more accurate sound. This has greatly improved the quality of my track mixing, providing a truer sound that's essential for professional work. The software is user-friendly, making it easy to achieve a flat frequency response. Overall, SoundID Reference is an indispensable tool in my audio toolkit, enhancing every aspect of my production work.
