“So SoundID is basically magic. I understand roughly how it’s working and what it’s doing, but the results are astonishing. My room is effectively unlistenable; I have an 18db boost at around 130hz, and a big dip around 1khz. It has low ceilings and is packed with furniture- I have big glass fronted wardrobes filling one short side and a big window on the other short side, my monitors sit on the desk, jammed against one long wall. I can’t move anything to try and improve it. It’s like a worst case scenario simulation for some terrible audio game. SoundID basically fixes everything. After the measuring process. I have now an effectively flat response and everything’s vastly improved. There’s detail in every frequency band which was impossible to hear before. Stereo imaging and soundstage is much better as well. I’m getting occasional clicks and pops which is irritating, but can hopefully be fixed with some tinkering with my interfaces buffer. I can’t recommend this software enough, it’s amazing.”
“SoundID Reference has transformed my audio production process. Its ability to flatten sound frequencies in the room with intelligent EQ ensures a cleaner and more accurate sound. This has greatly improved the quality of my track mixing, providing a truer sound that's essential for professional work. The software is user-friendly, making it easy to achieve a flat frequency response. Overall, SoundID Reference is an indispensable tool in my audio toolkit, enhancing every aspect of my production work.”
“As a student who moves around a lot, I often have to work in rooms that are less than ideal acoustically. After trying out the SoundID reference trial and measuring my room, buying it was an immediate no brainer (especially with the student discount). The change in clarity that I heard from my speakers upon applying the curve was staggering, and has finally allowed me to trust what I am hearing from my monitors. It has helped me finish multiple mixes that I had been struggling with previously, and has also finally allowed me to mix on headphones. For anyone in a similar situation to my own, I would recommend it 100%.”
“I think the standalone app could be improved on the backend, I had a few issues finding my calibration profiles after an update, and it seems like sometimes CoreAudio and the app don't work together -- I have to restart coreaudio sometimes to get any sound out of the speakers. The plugin works smoothly.
One more improvement: in Ableton 11 Live, I always get the note "SoundIDReference was not bypassed when rendering...", even if the plugin is bypassed in Ableton. This is a little annoying.”
