“Pretty good to use as a guide/cross reference. Seems to put things in a place where there are less revision requests, but not always. Can't use it full time as it seems to strip a little dynamic or something from the sound of the natural speakers. Maybe that's the algorythm working I'm not sure. I imagine a perfectly corrected room with natural speaker sound would be quite superior, but I'm sure they don't contest that idea either. But great software for being aware of any particular room deficiencies and doing a quick reference with eq correction over the speakers during mixing and/or mastering.”
“Sonorworks SoundID Reference is a fantastic tool for flattening out monitors and headphones and really levels the playing field for many different types of studio grade monitors. I would recommend that the Measure application fail with more information why it's failing. In this case, I was able to get into the actual speaker measurement before it failed several times, so I had to go back and actually read the docs, which is to be expected, but it still could be more clear on exactly why it's failing and what to read.”
“I've noticed a noticeable improvement in preparing quick mixes for my band. They praise me for how well they sound on any equipment, and I don't have to waste time comparing recordings on multiple monitors. We focus on creative work, and that's the most important thing. The equipment is designed to make this work easier. I highly recommend Sonarworks SondID reference. Monitor and headphone calibration is a great thing, especially if you don't have a professional studio, but just the comfort of your home.”
“I have had a great experience usign the SoundID Reference for Speakers & Headphones app. I had terrible corner bass boom in my apartment, and was considering getting some iso pads and equipment to make it better.
I didn't use the "official" microphone for the measurements, just my AKG P120 and the results are crazy. I can hear the bass guitar and synths well, and helps me keep my mix well. I know also when I play back the mix in a different stereo system it sounds so much better than before, and I've got positive feedback on my mixes recently from my mastering engineer. I usually throw it in as a plugin on my ableton's master - I do have to add about +5.6db on the master chain (I use the instrument rack), not sure why it doesn't auto compensate the gain, but overall that's easy to fix with a utility on ableton.
Overall it's also nice to listen to songs on Spotify with it, truly impressed with the technology :) Saved me a lot of boxes and equipment space.”

I think it is very interesting for studio monitors. I haven’t been able to properly test the headphone side yet because my model is not listed in the catalog, but I’ve already submitted a ticket to have them added. Once they are available, I’ll be able to provide feedback on that as well.
As for the speakers, the software does exactly what it promises. It won’t make budget monitors sound like high-end ones, but it does correct imperfections, allowing for a more linear and accurate sound. You really start to notice the differences between different monitors.
The feature that allows you to simulate different listening environments, such as earbuds or car stereo systems, is very interesting. It’s extremely useful for testing and understanding whether your mix translates well across different playback systems.”
