I've had a great experience using the product and my mixes instantly got better, this is something my instructors have noticed as well. I could finally understand the feedback I was getting on mixes because one thing is for sure...you can't mix what you can't hear. So really happy about this!

It works perfectly, turns also “standard” headphones like the Sony or Bose into perfect headphones for mixing.

I am satisfied with the application and this is why I use it most of the time: this includes listening to my attempts at mixing/mastering sessions and listening to high-res audio tracks via streaming services (Spotify). Coming from another app that also calibrates the signal, I can notice a significant improvement in the sound quality as I can notice right away the independent calibration for L/R channels when using SoundID Reference. Aside from that, when pairing the app with my BeyerDynamic DT990 Pros I experience ear fatigue when (only) listening to pop music that contains vocals. That occurs when spending a large amount of time listening to this particular music genre and at a high volume. It must be sibilance that lives in 8-10kHz range, and where any extreme transients and s'es hit very hard to my sensitive ear. Mind that I am trained in classical music so I am very cautious If I will raise the volume in such cases to protect my ears. This has forced me to use (again only for the pop, highly compressed vocal music) a custom preset where I make a significant drop in 9kHz with a relatively tight Q factor. If I would recommend something that would address this issue that would be an implementation of de-essing, which would probably reduce the effect of sibilance. Apart from that, I trust the application which is why always use it when I am processing audio and listening carefully to music. I like its modern minimal UI and the options are easy-to-find.

Having a flat frequency response is a lifesaver in music production. No matter what headphones or speakers you have, you will get an unbiased and uncolored signal so you can get proper mixes done.

SoundID Reference allows me to use my favorite pair of headphones for mixing. More than that, it has enhanced all of my music. Hearing it as the artist intended is the best feeling, and some of the results are otherworldly. Thank you Sonarworks!

It completely changed the way I produce music as I encounter a lot fewer situations where my music doesn’t translate well to other systems.
