“Having ordered a mens Barbour Corbridge (L) direct from Barbour, I found that the jacket was too tight, even though the size chart dimensions matched my own. Trawling the internet indicated that the only XL available in the UK seemed to be at Smyths Country Sports. I ordered online after normal hours, but was surprised to get an email the next morning to say that the jacket was despatched and even more so to have received it the following day - this included the fact that Smyths are in NI and I am in Worcestershire. That is a service that is getting rarer by the day in the UK, so well done Stephen.
The jacket arrived in perfect condition and is typical Barbour high quality - It is however, what they term an "engineered fit", which pretty much means it is a snug fit. I am a 44" chest and the XL is around 47", but the coat is only really comfortable with a tee-shirt or similar underneath, it wouldn't easily take a thick woolly jumper for instance. That said, I have walked the dog in near freezing temperatures and was perfectly warm with just the tee-shirt, so not an issue for me, but worth considering, dependent on what usage you intend for the coat? Perhaps worth trying one on before ordering?”
