“Ok, it breaks my heart to give Sonos a 2 star rating, but they have a major design flaw which just awful. The sound on these speakers are brilliant and I wouldn’t expect anything else from Sonos. They are cheaper than other Sonos speakers and very portable, but this means that I will only use my Roam speakers when I’m out and about. When you have other Sonos products and you open the app to control them, the Roam speakers turn on and stay on, so every time you want to grab your Sonos Roam speakers to use away from home or in the garden, the batteries are completely drained. This is honestly the most pointless function and it’s very frustrating. So for that reason, I can’t give more than 2 stars in this product. I really hope Sonos will fix this issue soon.”

“Great little device with quality sound. I already have a few sonos speakers dotted around the house but now having one which I can take to the garden or away with me on holidays is perfect. A little bonus from having this speaker is that I’ve now got it in the kitchen at the opposite side of the room to one of my original sonos one speakers. By having the two paired together within the app, I can now control the room using the Alexa on the Roam! The speaker volume on the roam does need to be a little higher than the one as it’s obviously not as powerful, but it’s a brilliant little portable device.”

“I struggled to connect my new Sonos Roam to my existing Sonos 1 system. Following instruction from the Sonos web-site, I was able to update my system to Sonos 2 (leaving me with a defunct Sonos bridge). Once this operation was completed, connection was relatively simple. The sound and clarity from such a compact speaker is brilliant, including the superb bass. Whether using Bluetooth or the Sonos 2 system, I find connection easy and would recommend this speaker. Top Tip: To save battery life, do not leave the roam in sleep mode, but switch off by holding the button down until the “shut down” boom is heard.”
