Upgraded to the ultra from the arc. Biggest improvement has been dialogue clarity, which is very noticeably better than the arc, which used to fall down in this regard. The atmos performance is no better tbh. Of course, the standalone bass is much better with the ultra, but not really noticeably better than the arc when paired with the Sub 4. I’d recommend the ultra over the arc if ur buying into the Sonos system for the first time or if you’re upgrading, then if you can get £500 for your old arc and get a decent 15-20% discount off the new ultra, then it’s also worth the upgrade :)

The Arc Ultra is everything the Arc should have been. Better base, mids and treble, which takes everything up a notch, particularly music playback. It's a much better match for the Era 100s and Era 300s when used as rears, which makes sense as they are all based on the same architectural design philosophy, both in terms of aesthetics and internals. I would only consider buying the Arc if it's at a signifiant discount over the Arc Ultra as the Ultra is a decent step up in sound performance and features, particularly its bluetooth support. The only downside that directly affects me is the lack of lossless DTS support. I really think Sonos needs to sort this out because almost all of its soundbar competitors do support lossless DTS, so I'm sure they're losing out on sales, not just soundbar sales, but the additional sales that become inevitable once you're in the Sonos ecosystem.

The Arc Ultra is a moderate step up from the Arc which was being drowned by the Era 300s I used as rears. Dialogue is clearer and the updates made to the Sonos app makes this even better. I also use the sound swap feature which admittedly worked just as well on the Arc. The arc by itself has good bass and that is complemented by the sub.

Have an arc ultra (replacing an arc), two era 300's and a sub mini. Took a long time to set up and at first would not connect to my TV, did not resolve this until a few days later. Overnight we had a power cut and the sub mini which was not showing in the app. Had an online chat with Sonos but a complete waist of time as of very little help. In the end I restarted my router and the sub mini came back in the app. Yesterday the sub mini lost connection and again had to restart the router which resolved it. Never had these issues with the arc. The Sonos app is very bad, difficult to find your way around it and not user friendly. Pity because the arc ultra is very good and a step up from the arc. If I was starting afresh without any soundbar system I would not buy any Sonos products

I've been debating for a couple of weeks whether to upgrade from the Beam 2 to the new Arc Ultra, and I finally took the plunge. It took a couple of days to truly notice the difference, but now that I’ve fine-tuned the settings to my liking, it’s absolutely incredible. I never imagined watching TV could feel this immersive—completely in love with it!

My arc seems to be ok watching films on Netflix but on ordinary TV although it shows it is playing 5 1 sound it sound's very muffled not very good at all, and it was set up with trueplay.
