“Out if the box was SUPER easy to setup as long as you have a pretty recent TV (Somos uses your HDMI ARC port) but can use your TV’s optical audio out. However, if you get a problem (I lost the Alexa support off my Beam after 1 day) the support online talks about resetting this & that but the actuality is that the system can (to an extent) auto fix itself. But, you have to do SOME of the resetting work yourself. I think their attempts to conceal the complexities inherent in these kinds of systems means that you can’t take pragmatic steps to figure out the problem, you have to let the machine figure it out, which as an ex-techie, got frustrating at times.”
