“I would like to give the X5 a better rating as it has improved with recent updates. But it still misses shots and can be pretty much unusable in the rain. Once rounds are uploaded for editing the positioning of shots taken is questionable which puts a question mark over all the other performance stats.”

“On my rounds I normally have to edit 10-15 shots. Some are my fault I’m sure but I need to keep a separate scorecard to keep my shots for editing. The support crew are very helpful but still I need to edit way too much.”

“I bought the X5 soon after launch, as was already a V3 owner. A few issues at the beginning, but since a couple of major firmware updates, the X5 is more reliable and stable now. The added features are a big improvement to the original setup. My only issue at the moment is the charging lead, the plug/socket arrangement on the back of the watch is a little temperamental, not a positive connection. Thought they could have a better connector.”

“Yes, there were teething problems when it first launched, but, ShotScope's drive to get things 100% is absolutely brilliant. Their support team is first class, and their response to questions or issues is very fast and conclusive. The watch itself is great, I love it. Yardages are accurate, recording of my scores is terrific, and the ability to see your over-par situation at a glance at any hole is really helpful. When I get home, the amount of stats I can study on my dashboard is bewildering! Very impressive product, WAY cheaper than its competition. Terrific.”

“The watch is very easy to use, it detects the clubs automatically and registers the score that you just have to confirm. It is very accurate for the yardage, it matches what you get with a laser so you can trust the distances you get on the watch. It's also a nice size, not too big. The only thing that is a bit annoying is that the wristband is in reverse, the buckle is at the bottom, which makes putting on the watch a bit more difficult.”

“Since the recent firmware update the features appear to be more stable and functionally better. Also, the scoring entered vs. shots - strokes taken is a good feature; easier to notice a need to resolve diffences at time of editing. Having used the V3 and X5 I'm still partial to using buttons, instead of swiping, to access screens for layups and hazards. Having used score keeping on a Garmin I like being able to add penalty shots at the same time as total strokes/putts. Still not sure about the watches battery life, after one 18 hole round I must recharge the watch before even a 9 hole round; especially if it's left on and used as a watch later.”
