“Bought the GPS immediately due to the sale price reserved to the owners of the V3. The first issues were fixed by the firmware updates, a process that was the same for the V3. Unfortunately, an issue caused the substitution under warranty, like my first V3. Sure it is an improvement compared to the V3. Now the watch is stable and useful, but it seems that the bluetooth connection is not properly working, I need to reset the connection several times. My opinion is that the battery seems not to support the peak effort of the connection, I always need to recharge the watch and only this seems to make the process working. I appreciate the putting and score automatic count, the aspect of a stilish watch, and the pedometer function. I would be more satisfied whether these issues with the app connection will be fixed. I suggest the watch for those golfers that prefer to wear a watch instead of being handling their smartphones on the course, an easier and faster way to play. The ratio costs/functions is really good and the support team is absolutely the top.”

“This is a comparison to older brother V3, which in itself was an exponential improvement on the V2. Looks superb and delivers greater functionality to V3 but with just 2 buttons, is more fiddly and too frustrating in realtime situations on the course. Touch screen is all but useless in the rain or light drizzle. Editing and stats zone post match is rich in features but there is a conflict between distance measuring and approach performance when taking full shots that do not attack the green. You can really only have one but not the other, which necessitates the use of provisional shot for clubs that are perhaps only ever used to chew up distance rather than approach the green when managing course play. One-off fee and no subscription is excellent. Putting stats are rather misleading given their reliance on GPS signal that itself has a tolerance of +/- 2m minimum.”

“This is my second Shot Scope watch and my favourite one. The X5 is easier to use and looks great. The data from the watch is helping my game, real numbers have showed me that I am not quite as “long” as I thought and my putting is costing me too many strokes.”

“Lots of teething problems, poorly positioned and highly sensitive power button means the watch cannot be worn on my left wrist. Touch screen totally unusable in the rain. Tags stopped being read after less than 7 months. Nice idea for a device, not very good tho.”

“For at least 30 rounds the watch missed shots, got the tees wrong and assumed each green was reached in regulation - despite following all their instructions such as number the number of practise swings etc. The support team did try to help but their suggestions didn't work. However, after a recent update it is now recording shots correctly, though it still gets the tee colour wrong despite this being entered at the start of the round. Fingers crossed it continues to improve.”

“I have been a Shotscope customer for about 4 years now having bought every watch version. The latest version is better and the functionality is improving too. However, I am considering swapping over to Garmin though and the reason is because I have a Garmin watch and wearing both becomes problematic. I know Shotscope will not go down the path of Garmin elements that I use (calories, step records and challenges, sleep etc.), however, even your articles and emails are all focused on the Northern Hemisphere so we're not really a consideration below the equator. Anyway your staff are amazing and for that I am staying for now but will probably review the next version that comes out in a few years as there is no attention in your email and articles to Southern Hemisphere. We know we're not your market.”
