Hit and miss, looks much better than the V3 but doesn't function as well, too many clicks required. Shotscope promised map views on the watch by summer which is why I purchased but they are nowhere to be seen.

X5 is comfortable to wear, loads relatively quickly and stores information fairly well. Editing on my mobile is relatively simple. Charging works fine and it looks good. Despite all the above, it has been disappointing. I had a V2 & then a V3 before this. The last update on the V3 was excellent and finally made it a reliable unit to use. I changed to the X5 because those appeared to offer me even more with good battery life, additional functions like step counting etc and a seemless change over from what I was already familiar with. In practice, the watch performs but battery is down to 35 / 40% after one round. Getting it to connect to the app required deletion of the app on my phone and re-installing. Every update has been the same. Help used to be excellent but now does not respond as well. I feel it was rushed out when it was still being developed and the comments on the user group seem to support this. It's a shame because there is so much potential in the unit and your team.

The x5 is a big improvement overall, the band is so much better, the new tags are nicer too and the club collect is also improved. I do find it tedious to unlock the screen, especially on hot days when I’m sweating. The touch screen gets confused and starts selecting options. I only noticed it on very hot and sweaty days though.

I have been an advocate from the V1. However, there are a number of items that could be better. 1 - universal power connector ( not the bespoke/unreliable ones we see on all models. Needs usb) 2 - x5, touch screen, which is useless in the rain 3 - even with normal use the sensors wear down and fail, requiring replacement. 4 - x5, battery life, better than at launch, but still not as good as v3. 5 - missed shots. Still a problem with this technology. Puts the onus on the user to keep score and edit. I have given up with scoring, as it is so unreliable All of these need addressing, but on the plus side customer service is usually good, and also new features are provided. I think the x5 was released too early, and the early adopters were used to beta/field test the new product. This had the effect of turning users off the product ShotScope can still do better for their customers, and need to based on the premium price they charge

I upgraded to this watch from the V3 and it has been great for me. It finds the course rapidly and the continual updates to the operating system have been good for me. I never used scoring but use it now and find it easy to use. I have a few missed shots but they're often duffed rough or bunker shots, which makes sense. I don't lock the face when playing which does lead to some problems with the watch switching holes when I have the watch face under a folded arm, for example. Statistics are great on the website. Frankly, I've never had a problem with the watch and have really enjoyed the step-up in the watch face and options from the V3 and the continual improvements to the OS from the ShotScope team.

Just to be brief, a nice display with a good battery and the gps seems accurate. But score keeping isn't that great. I have way too much to edit after a round every time. Many strokes don't register and I don't think a couple of the tags even work. I've still been using it but without reliable scoring I could've done the same with my Galaxy Watch 5

This is a great piece of kit - gives GPS yardages and Strokes Gained on all aspects of your game. However, you must be prepared to spend approx 15-20 minutes after every game, going into the app or website and saving/editing the round to pick up wayward shots, positional shots (i.e. punching out of the trees or second shots on par 5's), putts that are missing and correcting any errors or omissions you made on the course. If you are prepared for that this is a superb asset to your game.
