The Shot Shope V5 is the best golf watch I have owned. Here is why... I previously owned a Garmin, great watch and does many of the same features of the Shot Scope. My Garmin broke and I couldn’t justify paying over £600 for a new one. I did my research and found that the V5 is as good as a high end Garmin without the expense. It is a bonus that Shot Scope comes with the shot tracking app and tags for free. To add this to a Gamin watch you need to pay for the tags and the UI / stats within the app are not as good as Shot Scope. Shot Scope's app is far superior! I had Arccos after it came with my clubs as standard. After the free trial it wanted me to pay a yearly subscription. I had never used Shot tracking before but found it really helpful to understand areas of my game I could improve on, I just didn’t want to pay £130 a year to access this! When I found out Shot Scope has the same data for free I was sold. I have used both the Shot Scope and Arccos systems - both are very good, I just don’t know why you would pay for Arccos when Shot Scope give you it all for free. All you need to do is buy the watch. I have tracked 6 rounds with my Shot Scope V5 and it has worked flawlessly with accurate yardages. Really happy with my purchase and looking forward using this season. Thank you Shot Scope

I've been with shotscope since the V2, as Game golf didn't really do it for me and I've always found Garmin to be unreliable. The V5 then. This is the watch that shotscope should have made instead of the X5. It's what we golfers and X5 users have been hoping for. No more fiddly touch screens which don't work in the rain or that well with a glove on. Proper buttons which are easy to locate and robust and work properly and are user friendly. The look of the X5 is retained too, albeit a little more plasticky - but that's fine by me. The user-friendliness has been vastly improved though - so what we effectively have with the V5 is the user friendliness of the V3 and the functionality of the X5. (I'll come onto that!). The strap is so much better than the V2 or V3 and similar to the X5. Now... to make it perfect.... all shotscope need to do is learn to appreciate that the MAIN things golfers want from their tracking watch are: 1) User friendliness. (Both on and off the course). 2) Accuracy of GPS and picking up shots etc. 3) BATTERY LIFE! You can put all the bells and whistles (hole maps, moving pins on greens etc) on your watch Shotscope... but if you don't cover the 3 main points above (and you didn't with the X5 or to some extent the V2 and V3 with battery life if nothing else) than your potential long term customers will desert you. We would far rather have a watch that DEFINITELY lasts two rounds (without hole maps and moveable pin positions on greens and touch screens etc) rather than a watch with all those bells and whistles that you SAY will cover us for two rounds, but in reality, (after a few charge and discharge cycles), barely gets us through one round. I think Shotscope are pretty well bob on with this watch. 9 out of 10 for me. And lets see how many golf holes it'll cover me for, later in the season.

Works well right out of the box. Hole maps are very useful. Buttons and menus are intuitive and a nice alternative to a touch screen.

I previously used the H4 and switched to the V5 when it came out. The H4 worked great but there would be times I forgot to tap the unit to sync my club and then when I got home I would have to go back through my round to figure out what shots I missed recording. I've played two rounds with the V5 and it syncs perfectly. There were a couple extra shots recorded when I took some extra putts between holes but that can be avoided by selecting the "pause tracking" feature. For the money, I really like this unit much better than the H4.

I just got the v5 and so far am really enjoying it! I truly feel the shot scope took the feedback from the previous versions and applied those recommendations to the V5. I look forward to getting use to the v5 and the upgraded functionality!

I've finished 5 rounds with the V5 watch. I previously used the Arcoss which worked very well, but when the batteries wore out so I would have to buy new ones and fork over another $80 for membership I was done. So far, the V5 is easier to use and works just as good picking up shots and you can glance at the watch and see it picked up the shot. I think it handle putts on the green much better also. Glad I switched (and so`s my wallet)!

I bought the X5 when it came out, lovely looking watch and wanted it to be good for me, but I preferred to button only functionality of the v3. Albeit a touchscreen is more common on other brand devices I prefer the button as I can register the hole after putting without looking at the screen. Therefore I love the fact Shots ope have listened to feedback and figure out a way to answer that feedback and provide an option for both those who like touch screen v button only. I have to applaud the company for that. The watch is great, does as expected, the tags are better, more chunky and likely last longer. And the stats are what I had before on the v3. Excellent product.

The "hole maps" is a great upgrade from the V3. Besides that I enjoy the function where I can pick a certain point to get the distance I want to hit. I like that it shows the score after every hole and at the end of the game. Overall it's an excellent golf watch.
