This is honestly an amazing piece of equipment. It only took me a few rounds to get into the habit of tapping the club tag before each shot. The data in the app is so useful to see what parts of your game need work (it’s not always what you might think) and learn your club gapping. Great value for money and I love the simplicity of the device. I hope shotscope continue with the handheld line!

I have owned the Shotscope H4 for almost a year now. Here are a few remarks: The buttons on the H4 are too easy to press when it’s in your pocket. I have placed a case on Printables so the buttons are no longer pressed in your pocket. The GPS is not accurate enough (this is not due to Shotscope but to the GPS technology). When I am on the green, it is often not detected. Why doesn’t it automatically switch to putter mode when I tag my putter? In the app, it is often not possible to close a screen on an iPhone because the cross to do this is too far to the top left. Now I have to close the entire app. The battery of the H4 lasts a long time. The connection with the app via Bluetooth often does not work well, requiring multiple attempts. Clear app with a lot of data. After a wash in the washing machine, the H4 still works well. The clip is not tight enough; the H4 has fallen off my belt a few times. Good service from the helpdesk.

I didn’t know what to expect with the Shotscope H4 to be honest. A friend had bought a V3 watch a year or so ago and didn’t get on with it, but I didn’t let that affect my own judgement. To start with, the product is smaller that I had thought. It’s very much like a V3 watch without a strap. Out of the box I found it easy to set up, downloaded the app and connected easily to my phone. It required a software update, which I half expected, but this was easy to install. The unit took quite a while to find the gps the first time I used it, telling me for several attempts it could not locate the signal, however once it detected the gos signal it found the correct course and didn’t lose it after. Altogether the gps signal has been reliable ever since and the yardages seem to match those of my previous gps watch (a Garmin S3, which has served me well for over 7 years, but has recently lost some battery capacity, hence I bought the H4 as a replacement). I find using the tags to identify the club used for each shot a bit hit and miss. I’ll get the buzz to say it’s identified the club, but this is sometimes lost when syncing with the app afterwards. Maybe it’s just me? I have noticed it’s easy to forget to ‘Tag’ the club in play and it’s a little confusing if I use the putter from off the green, but I guess that’s just teething problems and I’ll get used to it over the next few rounds. One thing I have noted is although the magnetised clip seems quite strong, the unit is easily dislodged if taking off a jumper mid round and the clip itself can easily move on your belt making it easy to lose if you’re not careful. I use the supplied carabiner to secure the clip to a belt loop on my trousers. It doesn’t stop the unit dislodging from the magnet though, and I nearly lost it when putting on a waterproof jacket recently, so be warned. The app is fairly intuitive to use, but some shot adjustments require a bit of patience as the on screen icons are a bit unclear. I should read the online guide more, but I’d rather be able to just pick things up easily as I go along. In conclusion, overall I’m happy with this item. It’s not perfect and I half expect to lose it at some stage, but it works well and does what I want, for a very reasonable price.

Needed something to accurately and quick track shots on course to learn my actual distances. Not indoor track man numbers off turf. The device works well enough but does sometimes not register clubs through a shirt or when you duff a chip you have to wait a moment before it will register the second shot. The battery life will last well beyond one round but bring the charger if you plan on playing multiple 6hour rounds…..for shot distance tracking and seeing it plotted over a course map is extremely helpful and nice to see.

Excellent product, really pleased with the ease of use and information it provides. 2 small queries, 1 is does not quite last 2 rounds & 2 it takes a while to connect to GPS. That aside great bit of kit.

The H4 packs a punch in a small package! I keep mine in my front pocket for quick and easy shot tagging and yardage references. I spend 10 minutes post round to edit my round data to ensure accurate data insights. The benchmarking has helped me focus my efforts in the offseason and measure year over year improvements. The strokes gained categories are key to understanding how the four key areas of your game stack up against your handicap benchmarks. The putting % make rate by distance has helped me go even deeper to understand my strengths/weaknesses. Takes 5-10 rounds to get totally locked in with the device. It’s now a seamless part of my shot process in the blink of an eye. I do recommend keeping the device in your pocket as mine fell out of the magnetic belt clip a few times early on resulting in a few close calls. I’ve kept it in my pocket since and it has worked great. The dashboard and features are powerful and if you are a self-professed golf nerd like me you can’t go wrong. Best value in the Shot Tracker/GPS space with no annual fees. Buy your preferred Shot Scope device, download the free Shot Scope app, and you’re good to go!

I thought i could get my distances of driver and irons; but after a round no distances in performance mode on my phone. Also difficult to get started; or to know when the putt is hold. The round was not correct in strokes; could not correct it. Needs much more time to get used to it. Not easy at all!
