“This is an excellent value kit that allows you to mount a pinless Pico on a board with an Arduino Uno footprint. That said, you will have to buy the FlexiPins that hold the Pico separately, even though the kit does come with Arduino Uno headers.
The FlexiPins themselves are tiny. You need tweezers or forceps, an illuminated magnifying glass and, if possible, a circuit board holder to locate them in the board before soldering. Instructions are sketchy - the FlexiPin YouTube video shows a board with one pin hole and a slot, while the Uno board has two holes on either side of a slot. The innermost row of holes on either side is unused unless you want to solder the Pico to the board permanently. Not all the Pico GPIO pins are broken out to the Uno headers - GP10-13 and 37 are not connected - and there is no official map to show which Pico header connects to which Uno header - so be prepared to spend some time with a pen, paper and multimeter. Last of all, take care when plugging/unplugging the Pico's USB lead as the process can easily spring the Pico out of the Uno board. Despite all that, the adapter is excellent value for money and would rate five stars if only the documentation was better.”
“Nice idea. It doesn't come with the flexipins (my fault for not reading the description properly). I've not had a chance to have a proper play yet, but the board is nice quality, super cheap, and my old arduino hats fit properly.”
