“I already own the original one of these but found only having one game a little annoying at times. And because the mod chip to upgrade it was not available at this time. I have opted to buy the FX version.
The Arduboy (and FX) are fantastic little handheld consoles with a great range of free games available.
And if you are so inclined writing your own is relatively straight forwards.
The screen is crisp, the controls are great and the battery seems to last a very long time.
A great little gaming device to keep in your pocket when you want to travel light and don't want to have the distractions of your phone.
The only downside is that to load a new game you either have to have a pokey tool on hand to press the reset button OR use the power switch to on off the thing.
Could you build your own version of this for less than the cost of the FX? Yes.
Could you make it as compact and nice looking? probably not, so get this one instead”
