I was excitedly waiting for the arrival of RP5. Once it arrived, I quickly set it up and got it working. However, I'm disappointed. The review said it was twice as fast as RP4, but this RP5 is slower than my RP4B. All apps start up slowly and sometimes freeze. I am using a 3A type power supply, but the load is only on the main unit. I also tried changing the cooler from the standard case to the standard cooler, but nothing changed. I am disappointed. I'll try changing the power supply to a 5A type and test it, but as it stands now, the RP4B is faster than the RP5.

Like most folk I'm more then impressed by the speed and currently using mine as a desktop. Music is my main passion and the reason I bought my first Pi years ago, and I'm planning on making a music server with this one. I would like to thank team ninja for their excellent customer service. Yes I had to wait a few days but once it was my turn the service was second to none.

Bought this to run retro emulators and the Unifi controller. Everything is just that much more snappier than the Pi4. Just out of curiosity I tried the Ubuntu desktop and Raspberry Pi OS. The experience was good for simple tasks but responsiveness suffers when you are pushing it like watching HD youtube video while trying to multitask. Its a desktop replacement for those who only do light desktop tasks but if you require a powerful desktop experience then this is not it which is reflected on the size and price. One big downer for me is needing a new higher powered transformer. It's possible to use the Pi4 one but it is not recommended especially once you start utilising all the ports.

Upgraded from my Raspberry Pi 2 Model B and there is a good performance increase however, I would have expected website browsing to be smoother. Drops frames when playing YouTube videos.
