The Pi 5 is a massive improvement on the Pi 4 - it does everything claimed!

Great as always, what more can you say about a Pi!

I can compare the Pi5 8GB to the Pi4 8GB (and the Pi 3 - but I think the advantages are obvious in this case). Running Teslamate, Home assistant and another Grafana instance on my old Pi 4 was okay but from time to time it was laggy cause of the CPU. Especially when loading bigger timeframes of data, the CPU was a bottleneck. Now with the Pi5, I did not (yet) notice those bottlenecks. All instances (Grafana, Teslamate, Home assistant and several databases) run as docker containers. I recommend a fan as the Pi gets very hot. The Pi runs 24/7 without any problems.

Much much quicker than the 4B. Using with ZFS and still performs great

Excellent! RPI5 has become a real server: not only as an IoT, but also as a file, web, DB, video server, all in a VPN and encrypted at rest. What else?

I was excitedly waiting for the arrival of RP5. Once it arrived, I quickly set it up and got it working. However, I'm disappointed. The review said it was twice as fast as RP4, but this RP5 is slower than my RP4B. All apps start up slowly and sometimes freeze. I am using a 3A type power supply, but the load is only on the main unit. I also tried changing the cooler from the standard case to the standard cooler, but nothing changed. I am disappointed. I'll try changing the power supply to a 5A type and test it, but as it stands now, the RP4B is faster than the RP5.
