“The Pi itself is what I expected. If you understand what it can and can't do then I think you'll enjoy it. Just make sure you understand the power and cooling requirements to get the best out of it.
As for Pimoroni's part in my purchase; couldn't really ask more from them. I pre-ordered. They were aware of how desired the product was. They had updates, clear info and an FAQ available to help customers weather the long wait for their Pi5 to arrive.
At the very least this company should be near the top of your list to purchase from.”
“This next incarnation of the R.Pi does not disappoint. Well thought out and some serious improvements in performance over the Pi 4. I am eagerly awaiting the release of the PoE module which will hopefully be out soon.
Hint for those working on case designs... A Pi 4 case design can be made 100% compatible with the 5 if ou make the end-panel for the USB/Ether ports reversible.”
“Brilliant! Seriously fast compared to the Pi 4. I've once again purchased the official Pi 5 case for this one, and it actually sits nicely on top of the Pi 4 case, the Pi 5 actually having a slightly smaller footprint than it's predecessor.”
“Thanks Pimoroni, I am happily using my PI 5 as I type. It shipped very quickly to the US, I received it faster than some orders placed within the states lol. I've always been a fan of RPI but this one is definitely packed with power, I can't wait to test it's limits. Android TV is happily running very well.”
