I love the Pico and use it for the majority of my micro controller projects. Great price, runs micropython, great support in forums and bags of memory make the Pico a superb welcome to the world of micro controllers. In particular, thanks to the great unit price for the Pico, turning breadboard projects into soldering projects is really affordable.

I had a great time getting to know my first Pico, in preparation for our PicoSystem that was wrapped up ready for Christmas. I'd already read through 'Get Through Micropython on the Raspberry Pi Pico' so set about tinkering away. At the same time I was reading about the game Pong in 'Code the Classics' so digging out some potentiometers and a 1.12" OLED display made my own Pong game in Micropython. I had loads of fun.

Very easy to use microcontroller with lots of IO pins. Especially, 16 PWM outputs is the great feature for this form factor.

Bought a few of these in the black Friday sale and I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them! A week or two later I've learned enough micropython to have one power all the electronics in a 3d printed, replica ghost trap! Lights, sounds, and servo motion. All for less than £3! What a board! You simply can't go wrong!

Best things come in small packages. Bought as educational Christmas presents, kits now assembled including breadboards, switches, LEDs etc. The kids will be most surprised when they open them.
