“Can't use this camera since RPI foundation changed the display connector to be a smaller size than the one available on RPI 5 - so now back to shopping to get a proper flex cable. Wish they bundled the flex cable with the module itself to work with RPI 5 out of the box.”
“Great improvement in image quality over previous generations. Autofocus is easy to use, being enabled with one line of Python. It may be worth mentioning, if making a custom case for the camera module, to allow room for the autofocus mechanism to move slightly; technical drawings are available online.”
“The pi camera module 3 is great, however you need to ensure you have the latest drivers for it. I plugged it into my octoprint Pi and did not get any picture, so believed it was broken. Wrong the driver in octoprint does nto recognised the new chipset used in the camera. Hence my note to say ensure you have the latest drivers installed to use it.”
