“If you go for low power consumption and text mode programming only, this is the best way forward. You do not need to worry about overheating, even with the memory stacked on top of the processor and the board sitting inside a plastic case. From X point of view, this board did not age gracefully. A single core 1GHz processor with 500MB RAM is simply not enough even for web browsing if you use the latest Raspberry OS for Desktop. I intend to use this device as a micro-controller for a small project, so it is not a problem at all. I can do all the Python programming on another Raspberry Pi and then do the final tests on this one. And for a device that will be running continuously, low power consumption will be the real clincher.”
