“Great product, perfect for my needs as a backup device for some word processing and internet browsing - works fine with Office 365. Reminds me of the good old all-in-one micros of the 80s, but with a lot more functionality.”
“A fantastic Kit. Takes me back to 1982 when I bought my BBC B Micro and is just as much fun.
It’s a small, relatively powerful, open source computer in a compact lightweight form factor. It has an impressive array of connections for a unit this size and price point. (And I plugged it into my monitor and I was up and running in a few minutes.)
I believe it will be a game changer, as a low cost, entry level computer for access to the net and learning to code.
It’s become one of my “Top Ten” favourite things!”
“It works well. I connect it to an ereaer which I use as a screen. Flushed Ubuntu core on it and works great. Customer support is fantastic. I had an issue it was sorted very quickly and beyond expectations.
I assume its a manufacturing thing but every time I press the space bar it gives out a rubbery sound on the way up”
“Fantastic computer for the price paid. I haven't used the RPi since the original came out, and the difference in performance between that and this is huge. I viewed the original RPi as a toy for experimenting with ideas, but this new model is a much more advanced product. The responsiveness of the desktop means you will not suffer much frustration waiting for something to update. I'm now using it to develop a few programs to automate some tasks I do periodically. I only wish I had something like this years ago.
If you want to save every pound, then it is probably better to buy it without the kit - at the time I was ordering it they were all out of stock and I was too impatient to wait for it to come back in stock. The book is available as a free PDF, so that's a bit wasteful to have the printed version in my opinion.
I recommend to spend an extra 5 pounds and buy the RPi Zero to go with - it makes a great companion to the RPi for writing client+server applications, or running programs continuously in the background 24x7.”
“The Raspberry Pi 400 is a good little computer and worked right out of the box. Unfortunately the box itself was damaged because it was sent in a bag without packing, rather than an outer box with packing.”
