“Have been right into Vinyl for years but always listened to FLAC files through my laptop Line Out. After an accidental google result mentioning the Raspberry Pi, I ended up investigating further on Pi's then found out that they supported DAC's. After a quick bit of research, I purchased the Pi3 and the pi-DAC+.
Took a bit of getting my head around as I looked at the many different solutions for playing back my FLAC files that I have stored on a 3TB USB HDD.
Settled on moOde Player and wow, just cannot believe the sound coming through it, into my Cambridge Audio Topaz SR10 Amp.
Excellent soundstage and seperation. Clarity is superb with good highs and nice tight, deep Bass. Absolutely cracking piece of kit for less than an night at the pub.”
“I got this along with a Pibow Audio a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised at the quality I got through headphones. And then we moved house...
...so finally yesterday I hooked everything up through a mixer, amp and speakers. Wow. Just wow. For the price, you cannot beat it. If you're prepared to spend a lot more -- more than ten times as much -- you might come close to beating it.
This is real hifi at a ridiculously low price.”
“I can't believe the amount of high quality sound this little DAC produces. I had planned on using this with a large receiver (as a streaming box), but instead I now use it in my office as my main listening device. For the money, you really can't beat it. I also purchased the Pibow Audio to encase my Pi.... Very nice all around.”
“Bought this DAC with great expectations, and the sounds is fantastic for the money. Tried bass oriented music, acoustic, dance, rock .... this board can feed your amplifier with quality signal. Very happy with this purchase.”
“The Pi-DAC+ provides an outstanding audio quality, the best I've heard so far. It is definitely worth the price. Currently I'm using it with my RPi3 with RuneAudio. I'm considering ordering another one for my RPi2, which is running Arch, so it shouldn't be much harder to set up.
If I really had to point out a negativity, then it would be that you have to carefully remove the leftover bits from the edges of the PCB if you want to use it with a Pibow Audio case.
Also, if you are new to HATs, don't forget to enable it in the boot configuration file.”
“I have tried the DAC+ and tested with uncompressed CD-quality audio files and a pair of very good earphones (Sennheiser HD600). The difference of quality with respect to to the built-in audio interface of the R-Pi is evident. Said that, it is not obviously the best possible quality but still enough to be properly called portable Hi-Fi (THD for example is well into common Hi-Fi requirements) and given the price, I absolutely recommend it.
Configuration is easy following closely the direction at the manufacturer's manual.
By the way, for Pimoroni: modify the product's page to add links to the manufacturer, http://www.iqaudio.co.uk/
and to the manual of the board:

“As a budding audiophile without thousands of dollars to spend on equipment, This is the smartest purchase I have made.
I'm using this with a pi 2, and some mid range 2.1 Logitech speakers, i never knew these speakers could this amazing.
I'm using volumio and setup is as easy as
install volumio
Open your browser and point it at your pi.
Change a setting
Restart.
Enjoy amazing audio for under 100 usd (the cost of the pi and IQaudio dac+)”
“I use Shairport so I can push audio to my Pi's from whatever AirPlay device (mostly iOS) I'm using and was horrified at how terrible the onboard audio sounds, especially with headphones. This thing sorted that with very little effort! It sounds wonderful!”
