This device (with headers) fits in that weird zone where it's now not that much cheaper than one of its larger siblings, especially given that you have to buy all kinds of funky cables to attach to HDMI, power, get a USB hub connected.
That said, it's MUCH more powerful than a microcontroller, sips the power, and gives you SD Card, HDMI, Bluetooth and Wifi.
Ultimately, it's cute, not too expensive, and the sky is the limit as far as projects go.”
