“Convenient to have all the bits dedicated to a Pi apart from the monitor which is only needed for rare GUIs. Perl and Python progs running fast. Choice of Kali if wanted on a different sdhc. Hours of fun!”
“I bought the PI for 2 reasons; play with Raspianand RetroPie.
I then discovered the HUGE variety of emulation available for the Pi and now have 5 SD cards with different emulated OSes - my current favourite being PiMiga!
It runs like a DREAM and has all the connectivity I will ever need. The only upgrades I made was for bigger SD cards and an active cooled case, as the default case got very hot to the touch.
I LOVE IT!”
“the kit is pretty much as described. i bought the kit because it was easier than sourcing the parts individually, but i did buy my own 200 gb microsd and put NOOBs on it, since the one provided with the kit is limiting. (Limiting, for me - but not for most people). I like all the bits - but I do so wish the keyboard had a numpad.
The packaging, and accompanying materials are all you need for a fully fledged, and powerful PC. Whilst the 8GB RAM is maybe overkill (1 or 2GB is good enough for experimenters, but 4+ is ideal for dedicated web browsing).”
“Very easy to set up and get running, and I've found very few problems in installing a range of additional software. It now sports a 128Gb USB3.0 memory stick, and I look forward to using it for some of my more tedious data cleanup / conversion tasks as well as developing and deploying a range of other Python applications.”
“Absolutely loving the service. The kit is just what I needed to bump start my journey to programming and super happy with the Pi. Thanks to the Pimoroni team. I’m well on my way!”
“With basic computer knowledge you will have the pi4 up and running in no time. If you get the starter kit, it comes with a pi beginner's guide and will show you how it all works. Remember baby steps or before you know if you will be buying all the add on's. I do recommend a heat sink for the pi if you want to do some demanding tasks, mine came with a case but you can open it and let it air cool or do some research and get fan cooled cases. All in all its a nice bit of kit with many options to play with. My set up is with a HP 22f Display 21.5-inch Diagonal IPS Full HD Ultra-Slim. pi 4 is encased in an Argon 1 Pi4. also have an Rii X8 bluetooth full Qwerty keyboard and finally the pi had a NOOBS 64GB sd card.”
